RIO Powerflex Tippet

High tech, high tenacity copolymer with excellent knot strength and PTFE coating for abrasion resistance and elongation averaging 26%. Sometimes called double strength nylon. Used for all species, light gray provides super camouflage in any subaquatic environment. 30 yd. single spools.

RIO Fluoroflex Plus Tippet Material

This exceptional leader and tippet material is made from 100% fluorocarbon (PVDF). Fluoroflex® Plus is the strongest, thinnest fluorocarbon on the market with an incredible strength; for example, 5 lb for 5x material. It is a slightly softer material than Fluoroflex and ties excellent knots. The refractive index (1.42) of Fluoroflex Plus in water (1.33) compared to nylon (1.62) makes it almost invisible to fish. Fluoroflex Plus, with a density of 1.72 (compared to nylon of 1.15), sinks quicker and gets below the surface tension for more effective dry fly, nymph and wet fly fishing. 30 yards.

The original 100% fluorocarbon is still the best value fluorocarbon tippet. Ideal for saltwater, this tippet has been acclaimed throughout the world and has a great reputation for reliability. Highly abrasion-resistant and slightly stiffer than Powerflex and Fluoroflex Plus. Recommended for saltwater and anadromous species.

RIOMax® Plus Tippet

The new RIOMax Plus is an incredibly tough, medium stiff tippet material that is the most abrasion resistant tippet out there. It is perfect for fishing streamers for trout, salmon, steelhead, bass and for saltwater species such as bonefish and striped bass. A slick coating makes it very easy to knot.

A superior braiding process creates an ultra fine, perfectly round braid with unbelievable strength. With no stretch at all there is incredible sensitivity for bite detection and for instant hook-ups.

Extreme Tippet is very, very strong and has a slick coating that can result in the failure of standard fishing knots. To get the very best in performance from Extreme Tippet, use of a triple or quadruple surgeon's knot when joining together two pieces of Extreme Tippet (or if joining it to regular nylon). Also, use the no-slip knot for attaching flies (an illustration is attached with each spool).
